Superhit Wilson Olivera Nite Captivates Doha Audience

It was Sangeet Sardar Wilson Olivera’s 54th Konkani Music nite and he could not have asked for a better host than Mangalore Cultural Association (MCA), famed united forum of Mangaloreans living in the State of Qatar, the Jewel of the Gulf countries, to provide the stage. And for its annual cultural extravaganza MCA could not have gotten a better artiste than Wilson Olivera to enthrall the Konkani music lovers at the brand new auditorium of DPS Monarch International School here on Friday January 17, 2020. Together, Wilson Olivera along with his fabulous troupe and MCA dished out a perfect weekend dhamaka that had the audience glued to their seats for over 4 hours.

Poet Melvyn Rodrigues Conferred with “MCA Kala Puraskar” in Unique Programme

A unique evening, a spectacular programme, august gathering, talented artistes and the best known Konkani poet, writer, lyricist and speaker of the generation. All these came together at the Hilton Hotel Doha here on Friday October 18 evening in presenting one of the most memorable and special events in the history of Konkani speaking community of Qatar that ended with the conferring of “MCA Kala Puruskar “ Melvyn Rodrigues, Konkani’s number uno poet and the winner of the prestigious Central Sahitya Academy award.

Mangalore Cultural Association conducted an enthralling night of elocution and quiz contests

Mangalore Cultural Association (MCA), Doha – Qatar, hosted the second season of the Konkani Elocution Contest (Bhashan Spordho) and Konkani Quiz Contest (InQUIZitive). The goal of these competitions is to encourage the skills related to the art of public speaking, to enrich the knowledge and and to encourage the use of our mother tongue Konkani. Like all other events organized by the organization, this initiative was also received with great zeal and enthusiasm. A tremendous response was received to the registrations of both the contests.
